New England Porch Rockers was started in 2000 by owner Jeanne Compton. Jeanne had been doing traditional caning as a primary business but recognized a shortage of those capable of traditional chair caning, design, and craftsmanship. She has worked with customers all over the globe to design and craft the perfect New England porch rocking chair.
Nearly two decades later Jeanne continues to derive inspiration from memories of her grandmother’s New Hampshire farm, whose wraparound porch was lined with traditional rocking chairs worthy of the good company they invited.
